Services for Artists

The Live Arts Portal provides artists with an efficient web-based connection to Alberta educators, in addition to support in engaging as many students as possible in the arts. Through this website, existing and emerging artists in all disciplines may:

• update schools on current activities through regular Live Arts Portal newsletters, eBulletins, special announcements, and provincial marketing campaigns
• gain access to regional touring information and support for touring coordination
• receive reduced insurance rates and immediately accessible insurance riders
• participate in an on-line forum to discuss touring issues with other artists and educators
• download current arts education research, curricula tie-ins, and lesson plans

Through professional peer support, artists also have access to face-to-face consultation on, for example, respecting the school’s culture; getting onto the AFA’s roster; registering with regional arts education organizations; assisting the school to access funding; integrating current arts education trends into residencies, performances, and units; and effective and efficient marketing.
